Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all the ReviewBeforeFlight-ers out there! I hope you’re able to enjoy the holidays with your loved ones though I know many aviation industry professionals may not have the ability to do so.
This year, please embrace the season of giving. As a general aviation pilot one of the best things you can do is give the gift of aviation! Offer to take someone up for a flight, especially if they’ve never been flying in a general aviation aircraft. This is a simple and small gesture, but sharing your passion for aviation is a great way to embrace the giving season.

My own “first flight smile”!
The first flight smile is something that’s never forgotten. I still remember my first flight on May 16, 2000. Even if I did get a little air sick, I was smiling ear-to-ear when we landed. Check out the picture up above…
I think of the many introductory flights I’ve provided over the years and the number of family members and friends I have taken flying, there were many fun flights and a lot of smiles. Granted flying isn’t for everyone, but the vast majority of people enjoy the experience. There are a variety of options including a simple local flight looking for landmarks, flying over to the next airport for a fly-in breakfast or a scenic flight tour. So, use your unique credential as a pilot to share the joy of aviation, you might just help us solve this whole pilot shortage thing too!
